The Government of Japan welcomes, with regard to the formation of a new cabinet headed by Prime Minister Mr. Najib Mikati on September 10th, that all relevant parties in Lebanon managed to establish it through dialogue and consultation.
The Government of Japan believes that stability in Lebanon is indispensable to the stability of the Middle East. From this perspective, the Government of Japan hopes that the new cabinet will achieve political stability in Lebanon, and will garner concrete results in reforms in economic, judicial and other fields to the benefit of Lebanese people. The Government of Japan, together with the international community, will continue to support the efforts of the Lebanese government to this end.
